Tess

Hi! I'm Tess, a sophomore, excited to start to my tenth year with Stevenson School. The pep rallies have been so much fun with everyone cheering each other on, and I've also enjoyed being so close to the beach! I don't know what the future holds for me, but I hope to move to New York City some day.

My experience at Stevenson has been full of surprises – I never thought I would be a part of the water polo team, and I have been so happy to find the community so supportive of the performing arts at Stevenson (which I am a part of). I know school requires a lot of hard work, but with a supportive community, I know someone will be there to pick me up if I fall.

Two years down, two to go!

05.23.17
Wow, how time does fly. I can’t believe that it has been two years since I started my time here at Stevenson School. As I have mentioned before, I began at the Stevenson Carmel Campus in 2007 as a first grader. Stevenson is a home and I could never imagine this school not being a part of my life. The transition from the lower school to high school was a lot different than I thought it would be. It wasn’t easier or harder, just different. Even today, two years in, I’m still

Behind the Scenes

05.23.17
Spring term is in full swing, which means that the new sports and activities season has begun. Last term I was part of the musical which was a magical experience in itself. This spring I decided to do something a little different: I am the stage manager for the spring play! The stage manager is like the assistant to the director during the rehearsal and is in charge of running the show during performances. It has been so much fun, but it is much harder than I thought it was going to be.

Becoming a Princess

04.23.17
It seems so impossible for a sophomore to get the lead role in the school winter musical, but apparently, dreams really do come true. I had the pleasure of playing Ella or Cinderella in our school production of Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. There is no other way to describe this experience as anything other than magical. The show took two months to put together with rehearsals taking place every day after school. I was so nervous when we began the rehearsal process; I landed the

My Jam-packed Schedule

02.15.17
School's back in session and everything is beginning to feel normal again. This term has been a crazy one and we are only halfway through it. Being the crazy person I am, I have chosen to pack my schedule this winter. I am taking the normal 5 core classes (history, english, math, science, language) and two electives, drama 2 and study strategies. Study strategies was added to help me manage my time, and it's been helping a lot. That is my school day at its normal, crazy level.
